Marriage like Life is an adventure, so you have to choose well, who you want to be in your lifeboat. There will be exciting times but mostly ordinary days with its  routine and obligations but hopefully, with hardwork cooperating with grace, all the days will be filled with love.

What is Love? It could be a great feeling but Love is always an act of the Will, a decision to will the good of the other without expecting anything in return. Love expands, which is why spousal love should always be open to children and to extended family. In many african traditions, a woman or a man never marry just each other. Marriage is always a union of families and this union celebrates the events of family life of the couple, the union of families, protects the spouses, helping them to wade through challenging moments, providing a haven from the storms that will certainly come. 

Real Love is always thinking about the object of its love and what would make that person happy. Real Love is certainly not about "my rights" over my spouse or my intended spouse. Where both spouses are always thinking about each other and what makes the other person happy and doing exactly that (with God's help), then the adventure of Marriage is worthwhile, inspite of any difficulties. The one example is Christ and His Church.
